At 5:30 I started the Ragnar adventure for our team. I did 6.5 miles and loved it. It was a beautiful cool morning and I was thrilled to be starting. I handed off to Brigham who had an 8.7 mile run. I was nervous for him. He was used to running with me and I wanted him to pace himself. I shouldn't have been nervous. The Lord heard my prayers and send an awesome man to run the entire thing with him. We cheered for him where we could and when someone said, "that is one awesome kid," I found myself shouting "He's MINE!" I realized that since I have always run with him, I haven't had much chance to just cheer for him and I loved it. I took him water once and noticed that he was carrying something. I asked him what it was and if he wanted me to carry it. He looked at me like I was an idiot and said, "It's my knife. I want it." We had bought little ninja toys at the dollar store and he was taking the Ninja theme serious. He carried that knife the whole way. Later when we were waiting at Snow Basin I saw them man he had run with. The man raved about Brigham for over 20 minutes going on and on about how amazing Brigham was. He said that at one point they were at the bottom of a hill and he told Brigham to take it easy as they still had another 2 miles after the hill. He said either Brigham didn't care or didn't hear because he just plowed up the whole thing. (I must say I ran his runs last year and I walked a good portion of that hill.) The man said it was awesome to run behind Brigham and see everyone do a double take as he didn't just pass, but flew by them. When they were done that had 65 kills (had passed 65 people) and a 9:26 average. We were going to try and keep track of his kills on his neck but it just got to be too many. :)
Brigham handed off to Dennis and the race kept going. After all 6 runners in our van were done we passed off to van 2 and headed to Snow Basin for some spaghetti. :)We relaxed while the six runners in van 2 completed their runs and then we started up again. On our second run I had a 9.3 mile up out of Snow Basin and then down to the bottom of the mountain. I don't think I had any kills in the end but it was a great run. I handed off to Brigham for his 3.2 mile run and apparently Mason who had run an 8:17 pace lit a fire under Brigham because he ran his with an 8:10 average and 32 more kills. He was having a great time. Brigham (10) and Mason (14) were having a great time. They would jump out every time we stopped the van to cheer on runners. They would spray people with the spray bottle shouting "I 'mist' you" and dance.
While we were running our tails off, Peter took Julia, her friend Megan, Porter, Martie and Eleanor to Lagoon for the Xlear summer party.

They had a great time. Here is the e-mail Julia sent me from her kindle to tell me about it.
We had so much fun. We entertained ourselves by rides and peoples, also testing ours, courage. Dad left me and MEGAN take care of the girls and taking them to their baby rides. After lunch, we went to ride on the bat, and the mini Farris wheel. We were laughing a lot and we had a lot of fun. MEGAN went on a few rides that I didn't go on because I was " watching the girls," and she had a lot of fun. I hope that we can take her back to Lagoon next year. Hope you guys are doing great at Ragnar. One more thing, yt? The cake balls were amazingly good. Thank you for helping me make them. Can't wait until your home.
LOVE U, Julie
She loves the kindle.
