June 26th Happy Birthday Julia

Julia wanted to be baptized on her birthday when she turned 8 but we coudn't get permission.  We tried but they told us that they wouldn't let people turning 8 fill the font on any day but the stake baptism day and we couldn't baptize her anywhere else.  Then a boy in our ward turned 8 the same month but his dad would be gone for training in the military on the designated day.  He had permission to choose another day and our bishop told them that if they chose the week before, the Jones' would probably ask to join them and then love them forever.  They did, and we did.
So as Julia prepare to turn 12 she thought it would be neat if on her birthday she could again, be baptized.  This time in the temple for someone who had died without the chance to be baptized.  Our Bishop was out of town but the 1st counselor agreed to meet with her the morning of her birthday to do her interview.  So she got her recommend and we went to do baptisms on the same day.  She chose the Jordan River temple as it is her favorite and it was a really neat experience.  Peter came and did the baptisms and the confirmations.
So happy for her but so hard to see her grow up to be a Young Woman.  :)
After the temple we went and got bread sticks and raspberry lemonade at The Olive Garden.  We took them to the Oquirrh Mtn. temple and ate lunch on the temple grounds.  It was perfect.
She had wanted a tablet for her birthday and I talked her into a Kindle Fire as it had great parental controls.  She loved it.

That night we had to sleep in Logan so we would be ready for Ragnar at 5:30 the next morning.  When Brigham and I got in the van, this was the good luck paper I found that Porter had made me.  Best  Good Luck Charm EVER!
