Family Fun

We had a great trip to Thanksgiving Point this summer.  We spent a played in the water getting wet, then a good amount of time playing hide and seek in the labyrinth they have made out of hedges.  Afterward we walked the rest of the Children's garden and had a great time.  It was so fun to do something with just the family.  It is a great reminder of how many friends we have living right in our house.
One of our other summer activities was hiking up to Silver Lake.  Peter actually did this with the kids while I stayed at home.  I was floored that they made it as I had done the hike earlier in the year and I knew it was HARD.  It was 5 miles round trip and pretty steep in several areas.  But they walked the whole way without complaining and had a great time.  Daddy loves them so much.
Peter said that one of the best parts of the hike was watching Porter reach down and support himself with his hand on each rock that they passed.  Extra cautious I guess.  Oh, and yes, he is wearing a pink sweater he borrowed from Julia in the picture.  Dad's do fun stuff but without mom, they don't remember things like jackets.  :)
