She's Here!

Martha Verniece Jones has finally come! She didn't want to come Thursday morning when her mom was trying to be induced for the third time, but by that evening, she decided she'd had enough. I started having contractions pretty good at about 6pm. I figured it was from the days appointment and tried to sleep or soak through them. After a long night, I woke Peter at 4am and told him I was done! I tried one more bath then called Grandma Julie at about 5am. By 6:30 I felt like I was dying and we walked in the hospital. The first thing I told them was that I needed my epidural. Unfortunately, a scheduled c-section walked in right behind me and though she was in no pain, they decided she would get hers first. So I was a six when we got there and by the time the anesthesiologist got to us, we were a nine. They gave me an epidural anyway and it kicked in right after Marti was born. So, on the one delivery where I didn't want to go natural, I did it. Fortunately we were only at the hospital for about 90 minutes before she was born but my final conclusion is that going natural is NOT worth it.

Now that I have complained unjustifiably, I should let you know that we are all healthy and stinking happy. Marti weighed in at 6lbs 13.5 oz and was born at 7:52 on March 20th (Vixie's Birthday).

I will post a few pictures now but will certainly have more to come. By the way, the bow in her hair says, "It's a girl" and was made by the ladies in my ward at a bow night we had, and the darling purple hat was crochet by Melody Curtis. I love getting to play dress up with such fun stuff!

A couple of cuties:
Julia Brigham and Porter spend yesterday with their Grandma Julie when Martie was being born. Grandma took them to Wheeler Farm where they got to milk a cow. When Peter asked Brigham about it Bugs said, "It had these gross things hanging down from it that looked disgusting but when you touched it, it felt good." Peter laughed, I was frightened.

Lisa was talking to Julia about Martie. She asked Julia if she was excited to go back to school on Monday and tell all of her friends about her new sister. Julia said,"Oh no. I can't go to school on Monday. My mom just had a baby and I have to stay home and help take care of her and the baby." Thanks Julia.

I wondered what it would be like if I was blessed with a baby girl when I got to hold your beautiful, sweet smelling bundle. I thought about my rough and tumble boys and how I would love someone who would let me dress them up and put bows in their hair. Maybe just one more for the Hatch's? Then I read about your "natural" experience I thought "I'll just wait until Caleb falls asleep and put bows in HIS hair.

Congrats and I will see you soon with your store bought baby outfit!

Congratulations!! What a cutie. I also congratulate you on going natural even if it wasn't the plan. Also, I wasn't serious when I said she should hold on until my birthday. But, there isn't anyone I would rather share my birthday with.

I won't have my copy of Twilight until my birthday on April 8. Does Cristy have a copy? Then I'm up for a movie night whenever you are up for a movie night.

I am such a slacker friend!!!!!

I haven't been on the blog sight since Feb and I have been out of town more than I have been in town and when I have been in town I have been sick or getting work done that didn't get done cuz I was gone!

I heard you had Marti but not until the day before I was going to Nevada.

I am SO glad all went well and that you survived your unwanted natural birth. She is so beautiful!!!
