Yes, Halloween was celebrated here. Julia, Brigham, and Porter went trick-or-treating with their friends, Mason, Alora, and Abby. They had a great time. Julia loved her black widow costume and Mom enjoyed doing everyone's makeup again, and re-cleaning the tub after each kid left a different colored ring around it.

He's HOW OLD?
Today is Baby Porter's Second Birthday. This can't mean I have to stop calling him "baby Porter!" Can it? But, before I get to his birthday, I have to update on the other things that have been happening around our house. Since I count this blog as my scrapbooking and my journal, I like to try and keep it more up to date. Anyway. . .

We have also had our first snow, much too early. Brigham was stinking excited and wanted to go out and play. So, I got out all the snow stuff and prepared myself for what I knew was coming. Porter has issues with clothes that he hasn't seen worn before. He is fine wearing Brigham's old clothes if he has seen Brigham wear them (jammies) but he won't wear anything new-- even if it is just new to him. So, he screamed and cried while I shoved him into his snowsuit and put on his boots. Then I tried his gloves and the attorneys that prosecuted OJ Simpson were right-- you can't make someone put gloves on if they don't want to; even if they are plenty big.
But alas, we did finally get them on and I shoved him out into the snow crying the whole way. I peaked through the windows so he wouldn't feel a need to continue crying and I saw that secretly, he loved the snow. He loved eating it most but he liked walking around and knocking if off things with Brigham as well. Bugs tried to make a snow angel but I'm not sure the snow was deep enough. So, when I brought them in, Porter cried over the loss of his snow clothes and I sent them down to play dress up. Here is a picture of Bugs dressed up like a "little bit naked" Spiderman.
So, that pretty much brings us up to today, November 10th, 2008, Porter's second birthday. I can't believe it was two years ago that I was making Julia's pre school poster, while wondering if I was really having contractions and if I should go in.
He has grown up so fast. I was so excited to give him his big boy bunk bed but now his body looks so tiny in it. He is not big enough. He loves it, but he's still not big enough. He got the bunk bed and bedding from Mom and Dad, a Spiderman chair from Julia, and a stuffed Spiderman that is almost as big as he is from Brigham. We made him a "Just Ducky" cake that he loved as well. He loves duckies and since it is one of the few words he can say I knew I had to make it when I saw it on the computer and he shouted "Duckie." We had Jello jiggler water and a cake bathtub. The handles were made from marshmallows and the spigot was from a Tootsie roll. It didn't look as good as the picture in the magazine, they never do, but Porter seemed pretty impressed and excited. I want to write more about him since this is such a special day but since I am falling asleep it will have to wait until tomorrow.
