Spelling Bee

I hated school spelling bees when I was a kid.  I couldn't spell then and I can't spell all that well now.  I always just wanted the darn things to end.  I was certain I wouldn't win and that everyone was going to think I was an idiot (if people paid half as much attention to me as I thought they did, I would have been famous).  I just wanted to hurry and get out so I could be done. 

Fortunately, my daughter didn't inherit my distaste for spelling bees!  They recently had the school spelling bee and my beautiful daughter took first place in the whole 3rd grade!  That meant that she advanced to the school spelling bee where she got to compete against the first place winner of every other grade (1-8).  I got to go and watch the spelling bee at the school when she did it and while she didn't win, she did a fantastic job!  Above is a picture of her with all of the winners from the other grades.  Way to go Julie
