I missed last week (hence the squared smile title) but wanted to let everyone know that in spite of almost everyone being sick in our house (I have
pleurisy and pneumonia, Peter and Brigham have a viral cough that is making them three times more miserable than me, and Martie being generally miserable) we have had many smiles. In fact, I would have to say that I have smiled at our sickness for many reasons.
First I smiled knowing that we would get better. I try to be thankful for my health and that of my family but some times you need to be sick for a while to remind you how wonderful it is that you aren't sick all the time.
I also smiled when our neighbors brought us dinner twice, fed our kids lunch about a dozen times, and several other people offered to bring us meals as well. Mormons rock! (I know other people do this as well it is just that
LDS people have a reputation for being relentless at it.)

I smiled again when Martie got to play in the wrapping paper after my niece Kaity's shower. She was married on Friday (She was lucky enough to get a Peter of her own.) in the Salt lake City temple now and we had lots of smiles seeing so many friends and family in the temple.
I also smiled last Sunday when Julia and Brigham had us come in and watch their "concert." You would not believe how many "instruments" they could make out of PVC pipes and connectors. Julia wants to give up the piano for PVC. :)
I smiled later that day when Julia gave a wonderful talk on Lehi and how he knew family was important and so he sent his sons back for Ishmael's family. She did a great job in the creation and the delivery.
Tuesday I smiled when they Behives in my ward had a babysitting activity ad they volunteered to take watch my kids for about an hour. The kids had a great time and now I have a new list of babysitters. Thanks for such a great activity Mary.
Big smiles when I met Cristy and Lynn at Olive Garden on Wednesday. I don't have a picture (Cristy hasn't e-mailed it :) but we had a great time and it was wonderful to chat with the great ladies that I miss so much.

I smiled at Porter every day as he POTTY TRAINED! This kid is a miracle. The first day we had two accidents, and after that we haven't had an accident with number one since! His motivation? He got to call Daddy on the phone each time he peed and the potty played music! Guess how much we much
we love Old McDonald now! He is deathly afraid of going number two on the potty which makes me laugh and smile right up until I have to clean it up but we will work on that when he feels better.

I smiled when my cute husband didn't fall out of the tree. He had to harness himself in with our climbing gear so that he could hang a few more walls on the outside of the playhouse. Before he went over the edge, I had
him give me his cell and I dialed "9,1" so I would only have to dial one more button if he fell. It isn't done but it is getting there and it is looking good!

Huge grins at the ward
talent show. Julia played
Edelweiss with Peter, Brigham read me a book, (only watch the movie if you have seven minutes to kill brushing your teeth or waiting for
face book to load) the neighbors threw food into the mouths of their children, then we had a violin solo, a magic trick or two, and some songs. Lots of fun and smiles.

Smiles when we went with our neighbors Dennis, Summer, Mason,
Alora, Abbey, and
Kyra to the circus. It was really awesome. I am sure I would have liked it a bit better had we not gone to Cirque
Du Soliel with Nathan a few weeks ago. It was pretty awesome nevertheless. Not sure if Peter or Martie really smiled there.

I smiled at Parent Teacher Conference when both of my kids teachers told me that they are nice kids. They also said they are doing great academically but I am more happy abut the fact that they are nice to the kids in their class. We may be working on Brigham not being quite so crazy but both of them have teachers and classmates that love them.

I never offered to bring you dinner. I suck.
Spencer wouldn't poop in the toilet for 1 full year. He was so scared he shook.
I have issues with the circus and the unethical treatment of animals. You should too.
Did you email her and tell her yes about the chart? Do it
I loved this post. Mostly because it reminds of why I LOVE your family.
I'm sad that everyone has been so sick. HOpefully the yucks will be gone soon.
I love the PVC band and the adorable vid. The kids liked the video once Porter got a hold of it.
Way to Peter, I'm so proud of you being able to keep up with Julia! She is so talented!
Love the tree house. I will be getting inside of it when I come. I don't care if there is snow in Utah. I'm hanging out in the hut.
miss you
Besides being sick, so much good fun news.
I love seeing you too and can't wait until November when LeShel can be there with us.
