We Caught a Leprechaun!

Actually, we caught six.

Last Monday when I came home from having my hair done, my kids were thrilled to tell me that Daddy had set a leprechaun trap. I was confused because I spend a fair amount of time trying to tell the kids that leprechauns are not real and you cannot blame the things you do on them. Peter asked me to humor him so I sat back as the kids explained Peter had PROMISED he would catch at least three leprechauns. Then they talked about how leprechauns are little people how do lots of hard work without getting paid. The mentioned the gold but Peter said that part isn't actually true because you can't get to the end of the rainbow (silly!) because a rainbow is simply the light reflecting through the water. Therefore it would constantly be in a different location depending on your point of view. The kids went with it and after dinner the neighbors came over and Peter took them in the garage to see how many leprechauns he had.

The were a bit confused when he said he had six. They couldn't see any. Then he explained that they were the mini people who were going to do all the work without getting paid! The loved it and they were way excited to get to work considering they were painting the walls for the tree house. Porter loved painting right behind Abbey but he kept getting angy when she stepped on the wet paint. They painted for a while and then some irresponsible adult showed them that since they were in their grubbies, they could paint each other! :0
Which we did. Unfortunately, I was wearing my U2 shirt from 1997 and it is the only shirt I have EVER paid full price for ($25). Well, now it is my shirt with paint that I paid full price for. Thanks Dennis. Peter explained that if I hurried in to wash it right then it may come out but I said I wasn't that concerned. I can probably find a new one at a yard sale anyway. :)
