Sunday Smiles

Lots of fun smiles this week.

Sunday, Porter said, "I love you" for the first time. I try not to prompt my kids to tell me that they love me. I love to tell them often, and then see how long it takes them to tell me back. I want them to say it when they mean it, not when they are told to by someone else. Since then I have heard him say it to Abbey, Martie, and a few toys, but I still heard him say it to me first.

Tuesday I smiled when I brought in the ads from the mail and decided to let Martie play with them. I forget how excited babies get over paper when it is easy to hold and makes lots of noise when you move it. I just wish you could hear her trying to catch her breath she is so excited.


I smiled on Wednesday when I got to go volunteer in Julia's class. She has a wonderful teacher, (Mrs. Sinca) and it was fun to see where she sits and what she does in class.


Thursday I smiled (and cried a bit) when Porter went to "preschool/ playgroup." He is only two years old but six wonderful women I know wanted to have them get together once a week to play, learn, and give their moms a break. Here is Porter ready to go.
Friday I smiled, when my dear husband agreed to humor me and help me take eight kids to a Bees game. We were watching Mason, Alora, Abbey, and Kyra while their parents went out to dinner. We had to drive the big beast and the van but it went surprisingly well. Peter waited in line with them to ride the train, and Grandpa got them all Bees hats that they were giving away.


When the game was over the little ones were done and so Peter took them home while I went with my Dad to have the kids run around the bases on the field. It was super fun and since we were his VIPs, we got to stand by the mound for a picture. It was a great night.

Saturday brought several smiles with it as well.
I smiled Saturday when I got to take Summer out to lunch for her 32 24th birthday. We tried to go to Olive garden but they didn't open until 4pm. We tried a new place, McCool's and it was fun. Different, but good.

I also smiled when I saw Peter working more on our tree house. He has the floor done, and two walls framed. The kids were so excited. They aren't allowed up on it yet but that doesn't stop them from being monkeys climbing in the trees. If you look closely, you can see Julia, Brigham, Mason, and Alora all in the tree.
And this is the kids out having a lemonade stand on Saturday. We were a bit skeptical but knew they wouldn't stop asking until we let them try it once. We figured they would learn that you don't really make money and it isn't that fun. So, I smiled at the thought of them out there together but then almost cried when I heard they made $17 before they ran out of cups and lemonade. Now they are going to want to do it every week. They couldn't even give a cup to the missionaries as they only had one left. Maybe my skepticism is good luck. I was skeptical about Nathan's business as well and look how it turned out. :)
