Thanks
I just wanted to share an experience that our family had this evening. Not wanting to cook, I decided we were going to Carl's Jr. for dinner. We sat in the main area to eat as it was warmer than the playroom and when the kids were done eating they went off to play. They had come out once and told us that a boy was being mean and we suggested they just ignore him. They went back but later came back out to us. They knew where we were but they quickly turned at a right angle away from us. I asked Peter to see what they were doing, I was afraid they were going to talk to the boy's mom, and he stood up to go after them. He quickly stopped and stood still for a moment. The kids then came over to us and Peter asked them what they had said. Julia said, "I was just telling that man thank you for serving our country and keeping us safe. I knew he was in the military because he is wearing his uniform." Peter and I looked at each other. I am so thankful that our kids have been taught, both at home and at school, that those in the military are serving US and others in the world. Peter and I appreciate those who serve in the military and know that they are doing an invaluable service for us all.

That is SO awesome!!!
I too have had my kids do this very thing. Only in the grocery store...
It is very touching to see that what you say doesn't go in one ear and out the other all the time.
YEAH KIDS!!!
Way to go SUPER kids. What a wonderful thing. I'm guessing mom and dad felt pretty good that night. Ice cream cones for everyone!!
In response to a comment on my blog:)
Adi!!! You ALWAYS make me laugh!!!
I love being busy. I HATE house work so if I can be busy with other stuff and keep my kids busy too then the house is only somewhat cluttered and I don't feel bad for not cleaning every day or week... what ever the case may be!
