June 6th Porter's Rose

Our ward had it's day of service today and it was great.  We weeded a hug flower bed that was the width of one man's yard and about 6 feet deep.  Then we helped load up come cut trees and cut down another tree.  While we were working Porter kept telling me about how he wanted a rose.  We were visiting a Sister in the Ward and he brought it up again saying he wanted it so he could put it in a cup of water and it could sprout roots and grow into a plant. I was super skeptical and told him so.  He looked at me and pleadingly said, "But Mom, better to have tried and failed than never tried at all!"  Too cute.  The Sister we were visiting let him cut a rose from his rose bush.  :)
