Christmas Party of the Millenium

Recently I was put on the activities committee for our ward. I was fine with this until I realized Lisa Evans was the committee chair. I love her but she is over the top. She has ideas like you would not believe and I didn't think I could keep up. For our ward Christmas Party this year, she had a vision. Her vision was the city of Bethlehem set up in the gym. I feel a bit ashamed to admit that I view myself as a realist in situations like this and was quite nervous. Fortunately, I was wrong and she was right. With the help of every auxiliary, we set up 9 shops including a Pita Shop, a bakery, a carpenter shop, a fruit market, a toy shop, a well and winery, the Gifts of the Magi, a lamp shop, and the census. We also had a man in our ward build us a stable to put on the stage where they read from Luke and reenacted the manger scene. Everyone came dressed in costume, Peter built a manger for the carpenter shop, and it turned out amazing. Thanks for sharing your vision Lisa.
