Aspen Grove

This year was another year where we got together with Peter's family for Christmas. This year's event took place in Utah and it may have been one of the most fun ever. We rented the bottom floor of a lodge up at Aspen Grove. Aspen Grove is owned by BYU and is just a few miles up past Sundance ski resort. The best part was the lodge. We had 13 separate "hotel" rooms on the floor where you could go and have privacy and quiet but we also had a community kitchen for cooking meals, and a huge family room where we could play games, do puzzles, chat, etc. The kids could nap in their rooms because it was quiet and since we had the whole floor, we didn't have to worry about leaving them.

As for games, Linda brought up the most fun game we have ever seen. IT had a red light in the middle and it would beep faster and faster. When the light turns green you push your button as fast as you can. If you are the first person, everyone else gets shocked but if you push it early you get shocked. You can also set it to just shock the last person, or select who you shock. It sounds crazy and it was. Peter, Julia, Brigham, and Porter all tried it and I got shocked on accident when I picked up a handle that was still delivering the shock. It was WAY too entertaining.

In addition to the fun indoors, Nathan rented six snowmobiles for us to use, bought a bunch of ski passes to Sundance, and several sleds for the sledding hill across the street. I can't think of a thing that could have made it better.

I went skiing for a half day and had a great time and Peter took Brigham skiing on the tow rope at night. Brigham said it was fun and he said he would try it again some time.

We were up there from the 22nd to the 26th so this is where we opened our Christmas jammies on

Christmas Eve,

and a few of our gifts on Christmas morning. It was a great Christmas.

who let your kids grow up. I'm absolutely distraught by how old they look. :(
