At long last it paid off. As many of you know, we have had a guest living at our house for a while. Some of you may say that we should now consider our guest family but I have vowed we would never do that and I am not ready to eat those words quite yet. I am however, feeling a little bit more tollerance to the said visitor now that my $36 dollars worth of food has paid off. Yesterday, my kids came in and said that there was something kind of furry on the grass and they wanted me to come see what it was. I wasn't in the mood to move all the way outside so I told them it was probably a caterpillar. They were pacified and so I forgot about it. Only later did I learn that the "furry thing" was the pay off my guest had brought in exchange for all the food I have had to purchase! Yes, at long last, Mouser lived up to his name, and caught his first mouse (sorry, this was the one time Peter didn't think to grab the camera)! We are pretty sure it was Mouser that caught it because by the time we found it, the head was gone and Brigham is sticking to the story that he didn't pull it off, so it had to be the cat. So, there you have it, get a free cat, feed it for a few months, and maybe you to can sleep at night knowing that no mice will make it to your food storage.
P.S. It has been suggested to me that I may have an even bigger pay off from Mouser if we cut back on the food we have been giving him so that he would be inclined to catch more mice but Peter remains insistent that the cat get a full 6 oz. of food every other day. He is such an animal lover!

hooray for mouser and for safe food storage
Have you ever thought that the kids probably went out and caught the damn thing so you would stop complaining about what a waste of time and money having a pet is?
